Students Use Tech to Connect With Nature

Part of the money from Teaching and Learning Grants went to help these students from East Elementary connect with nature through technology. Nature and technology work together? Read on...

The students took a field trip to Trail of Tears State Park, where they used an app and geographic coordinates to find treasures that relate to Missouri history. We know that Trail of Tears is a rich site with loads of Missouri history, and the students had a blast on their "treasure hunt" throughout the park.

In addition to hunting for "geocaches" on their field trip, they also learned to make comparisons of physical geographic characteristics, as well as developing problem-solving skills.

We're glad that we're able to facilitate your generous support through the Teaching and Learning Grants to create wonderful experiences like this. To learn more about the grants, click here!
