Teaching and Learning Grants

The Teaching and Learning Grant program features a way for teachers to write grants to the Foundation requesting funds for classroom projects that expand educational opportunities for students beyond the regular classroom experience. Through this program, the Jackson R-2 Foundation is able to give away nearly $25,000 in grants to teachers each year providing items such as programs that teach computer coding, robots, 3D printers, iPads, field trip experiences and more.

A prize patrol of Jackson R-2 Foundation members and school friends surprise teachers in early December with their grant awards. This program grows each year thanks to the donations of people like you!

Technology Fund

The Jackson R-2 Foundation Technology Fund was created at the request of teachers and principals to provide additional funding to expand technology in the classroom. The Jackson R-2 Foundation was able to give away over $23,000 alone just last year in technology awards. These awards have included items like carts of iPads and Chromebooks, Interactive Data Projectors in classrooms and entire schools. Teachers and principals contact the Foundation with a proposed need for the technology in each building and the Jackson R-2 Foundation works hard through events and donors like you to make providing that additional technology possible. Thousands of students benefit each year from the expansion of school technology through this fund.

Student Activities Fund

This fund was established to help students that have a personal need that impacts school activities or in the classroom experience. Through programs like Heroes 4 Hope, students and families struggling to provide food on the weekends can receive help. Help can also be given to students that can’t attend a school trip or participate in an activity due to a financial need, the Student Activities fund is able to meet that need. The Jackson R-2 School District and Foundation work closely to support students that have a need that would present a barrier to a quality education.

The Student Activities fund also supports clubs and organizations and student events such as FBLA, Boys State and Girls State participants, Missouri Scholars Academy participants and much more!

For more information on the Student Activities Fund or ways you can help support this program, please contact the Jackson R-2 Foundation at 573-243-9501 or e-mail mpobst@jr2mail.org.

Scholarships

Jackson R-2 School District Foundation manages many scholarships that are awarded to graduating high school students based on various criteria. Scholarships are set up in honor or in memory of a graduate or teacher from the Jackson R-2 School District family. The Foundation can help families and friends establish scholarships and criteria to support projects in various areas. It is a wonderful way to create a living legacy in memory of a loved one, while helping to further the education of future generations.

If you are interested in establishing a scholarship or memorial project to benefit graduating seniors, please contact the Jackson R-2 School District Foundation at 573-243-9501 or contact Merideth Pobst at mpobst@jr2mail.org
